The heart of
the kiosk is a software program called the DC Viewer.
It was designed from the ground up and combines the power of
television with the interactivity of the web.
The DC Viewer displays digital
photographs and plays video and audio clips. This screen
shot shows a typical screen with seven video clips
playing at the same time. Click on the image for information
about the screen.
Without a user operating it, the browser
will display a continuous play list of video clips in the large area (Main
Viewer). It can be watched like passive television or the user can
chose a more interactive style.
The interactive comes in when the
user changes the program flow by clicking on video thumbnails and menu
items. It's like channel surfing except that when you return to a program
it picks up where it left off.
